Relocatable Housing
Mackla Construction handles the site works side of a relocatable home: foundations, connections and compliance, across Christchurch, Selwyn and North Canterbury. We don't sell or manufacture relocatable homes. Once you've got one bought or on its way, we're the team that gets it sitting right, connected properly and signed off, working directly with your architect and engineer.
Site Works, Not Sales
If you've bought a relocatable home, or you're moving one onto a new section, the house itself is only half the job. The site work is where most of the risk actually sits: foundations that suit your ground conditions, getting services connected properly once the house lands, and making sure the whole thing meets the rules before council will sign it off. That's what we do. We're not a relocatable home dealer or manufacturer, we're the licensed builder who handles what happens once the house is yours.
We work directly with your architect and engineer through the whole process, from foundation design through to final compliance, so the house you've bought or moved ends up meeting the rules on your specific section, not just a generic checklist. Covered by our LBP licence (LBP139411), full insurance and a 5 year warranty. Landscaping, fencing or a new build on the same section can be scoped in alongside the site works if needed.

What's Involved
Every relocatable home job covers the same core stages, whether it's a house being moved onto your section or a new relocatable build being craned into place.
We assess your section and work with your engineer on a foundation design that suits your ground conditions, whether that's piles, a slab, or another foundation type specific to your site.
Foundations and any groundworks completed and ready before the house arrives, so the day it lands goes smoothly.
Coordinating with the house mover or crane company so the home is placed correctly onto the prepared foundations.
Plumbing, drainage, power and any other services connected once the house is in position.
Council inspections through to Code Compliance Certificate, confirming the completed site works meet the Building Code.
A Real Collaboration
A relocated home has to sit on foundations designed for your specific section, not the section it originally came from, which means an engineer is normally involved from early on. We work directly with your architect and engineer through the foundation design, the placement, and the final compliance sign-off, so the house ends up meeting the rules for where it's actually going, not just a generic standard.

Placing a relocatable home on a section is building work that needs council consent, covering the foundations, the connections, and the placement itself. As a registered Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP139411), Connor is legally accountable for the building work on your job, and every stage is inspected to the standard the council expects, working through to Code Compliance Certificate.
The Process
Before It Arrives
Call, text, or send an enquiry for a free site works quote.
We look at your section, talk through the house you've bought or are moving, and check ground conditions and access.
Getting Site-Ready
We work with your engineer on a foundation design specific to your site, and get the consent pathway sorted before anything starts.
Foundations and any groundworks completed and ready before the house arrives.
Arrival & Sign-Off
The house is placed on the prepared foundations and connected to services.
Council inspections through to Code Compliance Certificate, and the job covered by our 5 year warranty from that point.
Before You Commit
Ground conditions, access for the house or crane on placement day, and how the section is oriented all affect whether a relocatable home is straightforward or needs extra design work to make it fit. We'll assess your section as part of the quote, and work with your engineer if the ground or access needs a specific foundation or placement approach. If you're still deciding whether a relocatable home suits your section, we're happy to talk it through before you've committed to buying or moving one.

Pricing
We don't publish set prices for relocatable home site works, since ground conditions and access vary enormously from section to section. The main variables are your foundation type (piles, slab or another design specific to your site), ground conditions and access for machinery or the house itself, the extent of connections needed once the house is in place, and whether council requires any additional engineering or consent conditions for your section. The only way to get a real figure is a site visit and a proper quote, which is free and comes with no obligation.
